It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Zelda Fae Garner, who left us peacefully on the morning of July 15, 2025, at the age of 90. A beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Zelda touched the lives of all who knew her with her warmth, kindness, and quiet strength.
Zelda was born on July 2, 1935, in McLennan County, Texas. She lived a life marked by love, resilience, and grace. She was married to the late Ronald D. Garner Sr, and together they built a life grounded in devotion to family and enduring values. As a military wife, Zelda traveled the world with Ronald during his service in the U.S. Air Force, experiencing life in many places and making lasting memories along the way.
In her retirement years, Zelda enjoyed crafting and spending time on creative projects. She also loved playing dominoes and cherished the moments spent in friendly competition with family and friends. These simple joys brought her happiness and connection in her later years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Garner; her daughter, Patricia Garner; her sister, Corrine Necker; her twin sister, Elda McKenzie; and her brothers, Billy and Pete Magee.
She is survived by her son, Pete Garner, and his wife, Cyndi Garner, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Keely Garner and Matthew Garner who were her pride and joy. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who hold a special place in her heart.
Zelda will be remembered as a true force of nature—spirited, strong, and full of life. Her presence lit up every room, and her legacy of love, perseverance, and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew her.
