William Cody Wyers, Jr., 79 of China Spring, passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005 at a Temple hospital. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005 at 2:00 PM at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Wyers was born on Jan. 10, 1926 in Coal Hill, Arkansas to William Cody Wyers, Sr. and Bessie Willis Wyers. He was a member of the Community Baptist Church in China Spring, and was also a member of the Texas Baptist Builders. He belonged to the American Legion, was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and enjoyed fishing, camping and boating.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian Wyers of China Spring; sons Cody Wyers and wife Judy of San Marcos and Jeff Wyers and wife Tammy of Waco; daughter Connie Stanfield and husband David of Phoenix, AZ; brothers Weldo Ogden of Broken Bow, OK and J.D. Ogden of Joshua, TX; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and an extended family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community Baptist Church building fund.
