Verna Sires

Verna Dee Sires,78, of Lampasas passed away Saturday in a local hospital . Graveside services will be 3:00 pm Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Gholson Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Monday from 6:00 to 8:00pm Monday at Pecan Grove Funeral Home 3124 Robinson Drive. Verna was born May 12, 1935 to Wiley and Ethel Dyson Shoemake. She was a member of Adamsville Baptist Church in Lampasas. Verna was a housewife who loved her faith, family, and cooking. Verna was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Sires; two daughters, Molly Collins and Nancy Cox. She is survived by: a daughter, Rhonda Ates and husband Oscar; a son Raymond L. Sires and wife Pat; sister, Lurline Hunter and husband Robert. Verna has ten grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
