Trace Aaron Erp

Trace Aaron Erp, 34, of Waco, Texas, passed away on September 12th, 2026, at his home in Lacy Lakeview, Texas. He was born at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco to his loving parents, Dora Maureen (nee McCracken) and Erwin Paul “Trey” Erp III on December 17th, 1991.

Trace attended Wall High School in Wall, Texas and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in computer science from Angelo State University. Trace worked as a customer service representative at West Central Wireless in San Angelo for five years and most recently as a highly-valued cashier for Heart of Texas Goodwill Industries. He was a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church and volunteered with Ascension Providence Hospital.

Trace was preceded in death by his father, Trey Erp, and his grandfather, David R. McCracken.

Survivors include his beloved siblings, Kylie Erp, Braden Erp, Anya Huffman, Merry Erp-Cromeans, and Lily Erp-Cromeans, his mother and stepfather, Dora and Peter Sears, his grandmothers, Mary S. McCracken, and Tamara Mitchell, his grandfather, Paul Erp, and a multitude of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and step-family members.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, October 10th, 2026, at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church in Waco with Minister David Villarreal officiating. A celebration of Trace’s life and family visitation will follow in the fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Trace’s memory to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Columbus Avenue Baptist Church, two organizations to which Trace regularly donated himself.
