Sue Alston

Sue Brinkman Alston, 85, of McGregor, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 17 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Williams officiating. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 18 at Morton Cemetery in Richmond, Texas with Pastor Todd Gill officiating. The family will receive visitors 5 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 16 at the funeral home.

Sue was born September 2, 1935 to Lillie Veal (Dew) and Walter August Brinkman Sr. in Houston, Texas. She accepted Christ as Savior in August 1948 and was baptized then as well. Sue attended school in Missouri City schools her entire school years. She also attended the University of Texas in Austin. Sue married Robert Bailey Alston Sr. on November 25, 1955. She was a proud member of the DAR and the DRTUDC.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Hugh Louis Brinkman.

Sue is survived by her children, Robert Bailey Alston Jr. and wife Donna, Lisa Ellen Alston Lucik and husband Ron; grandchildren, Zachary Newton and wife Erin, Bobby Newton and wife Allison, Sam Newton and wife Sarah, Timothy Lucik, Jacob Alston, Rebeckah Alston Crye and husband Justin; brother, Walter August Brinkman Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made for Guatamala seminary scholarships to Avant ministries, SETECA scholarship fund, 10,000 N. Oaks Trafficway, Kansas City, MO 64155.
