Silverio G. Salinas Jr., 79, of Waco, passed away Monday, November 17, 2025. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, November 20 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with The Very Reverend Father Benjamin Magnaye as Celebrant. There will be a visitation from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 19 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home with a Rosary beginning at 6 p.m.
Silverio “Silver” Salinas was born November 2, 1946, in Donna, TX, to Silverio Salinas Sr. and Francisca Garza. He married Olga Muniz on May 8, 1971. Silver served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for UPS as a long-distance driver for many years until his retirement. Silver Salinas Jr. loved spending time with his family. He always went above and beyond for anyone he cared about whether it be building a table for his granddaughter to showing up to family events with helping hands. He consistently supported and showed up for his loved ones. Silver would always try to bring light and laughter to any situation and make those around him feel at ease. Silver had a passion for restoring old cars and giving them new life. His extensive car collection and projects kept him busy throughout his free time and retirement. He was a devoted Dallas Cowboy fan. Win or lose, Silver was cheering the Cowboys on every Sunday.
Silver was preceded in death by his parents Silverio Salinas Sr. and Francisca Garza; brother Oscar Salinas, sister Linda Villarreal; and wife Olga Salinas. He is survived by his children, Stefanie Salinas, Anthony Salinas, and Lisa Marie Salinas; brothers Daniel Salinas Sr., Roy Salinas, Ronny Salinas, Robert Salinas; sisters Hilda Hamilton, Diana Salinas Garza; and grandchildren, Jordyn Avila and husband Marcus, Logan Guardiola and wife Veronica, and Anisah Salinas.
