Sherry Ann Gibson

Sherry Ann Gibson, 76, of Robinson, TX, passed away at home on September 4, 2025. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 9, at Waco Memorial Park, 6623 I-35, Waco, TX. Visitation will be from 5 – 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 8, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home.

Sherry was born in Waco, TX, to James Calvin Baker and Nora Geneva Baker on September 15, 1948. She went to Waco High School. Sherry married Ronnie James Gibson on October 5, 1964. She worked for many years in the printing industry at Hill Printing and Central Texas Printing. She had a profound love for animals and was a passionate bird enthusiast. She dedicated much of her life to raising and caring for tropical birds, creating a vibrant and nurturing environment for these beautiful creatures. She was known for her strength and deep love for her family; she never met a stranger and was a beloved Memaw.

Sherry was preceded in death by her father, James Calvin Baker; mother, Nora Geneva Mercer, and her sister, Lenial Hilley.

She is survived by her husband, Ronnie James Gibson; daughter, Rhonda Mattson and husband, Mike; son, Calvin Gibson and wife Jackie; sister, Jimmie Davis; grandchildren, Ronnie Featherston and wife Alex, Khristen Staas and husband Clint, Taylor Gibson, Brook Gibson, Blake Laningham, and Brooke Laningham and husband Zachary Parrish; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Aubrey, Landon, Brantley, Stetson, Elijah, Aurora, and Isabella.

Pallbearers will be Taylor Gibson, Ronnie Featherson, Clint Staas, Blake Laningham, Zachary Parrish, Landon Staas, and Anthony Staas.

The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the entire team at Compassus Hospice, Dr. Timothy Martindale, and all the support from her family and friends.
