Sarah (Sally) Jessie Redding (Burch), 87, of Robinson, TX, entered the gates of heaven on the morning of June 9, 2025, at the Town Hall Estates in Hillsboro, TX. Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home with Mitch Bynum officiating. The burial will immediately follow at Robinson Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at the funeral home.
Sally was born on April 19, 1938, in Hill County, Texas to Samuel George Burch and Cecil Gladys (Sellers) Burch. She married Forest B. Redding on August 22, 1958, in Robinson, TX, where they raised their three children. They were members at Youngblood Memorial Presbyterian Church. Sally worked for Word, Inc. for many years helping introduce the world to many Christian Contemporary Music artists, including Amy Grant and BJ Thomas. When she retired from Word, she became the oiled wheel & voice of Forest Redding Sand & Gravel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel & Cecil Burch; mother & father-in-law, Pauline & Rogers Redding; husband, Forest B. Redding; son, Rogers Redding, brothers, Charles and Foster Burch; sisters, Louise Willis & Pauline (Polly) Thurmond; sisters-in-law, Cynthia Lawson, Marsha Redding, Dorothy Burch, Kathy Burch, and Wanda Teague; brothers-in-law, Frank Lawson, Woodrow Willis, and Harry Thurmond; niece, Catherine Redding; nephew, Brett Redding.
Sally is survived by: son, Dan Willis & wife, Peggi, of Tabor, IA; daughter, Lisa Rieger & husband, Kenneth, of Ross, TX; grandchildren: Chisum Rieger of Ross, TX; Sonora Rieger of Ross, TX; Molly Muellner & husband, Dustin, of Jerusalem, AR; Jennifer Hammond & husband, Joe, of Bellevue, NE; Cori Botts & husband, Aaron, of Papillion, NE; great-grandchildren: Cannon, Everlie & Boone Muellner; Noah, Abby, Emme & Maddie Hammond; Brianna, Braelyn & Breylee Botts; great-great-grandson, Isaiah Wheeler (Botts); brother-in-law, Neil Redding of Houston, TX, and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Sally’s outgoing personality and love will be missed by so many as she was truly a light for Jesus to all that knew her and crossed her path.
Our family would like to extend a special thank you to all the wonderful caregivers at Town Hall Estates and Wings Over Texas Hospice Care who took great care of our mom and grandma up until the end.
