Rebecca Ann Murphey Clukey, age 63, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, January 24, 2026. Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 7 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Voigts officiating. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Rebecca was born on December 22, 1962, in San Antonio, Texas. She was lovingly adopted and raised by her parents, Robert E. Murphey and Virginia (Hullum) Murphey, who provided her with a strong foundation of love and support throughout her life.
She graduated from Richfield High School in 1981, where she proudly served on the drill team. Throughout her life, Rebecca made several places home. She lived in Allen from 2004 to 2010 before moving to Waco in 2010 to care for her father following the passing of her mother. In 2017, she relocated to Galveston, later returning to Waco, where she remained until 2025. She spent her final year in Hewitt.
Rebecca was hardworking and entrepreneurial. She spent her early career owning and operating her own Freshcoat Painting franchise. After selling her business, she continued her professional life as a bookkeeper for Foxworth-Galbraith, later concluding her career at Centex Business Solutions before retiring.
In her personal life, Rebecca found joy in the simple pleasures of the outdoors. She loved hiking, gardening, and spending time tending to her flowerbeds.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Jack Murphey. Rebecca is survived by her son, Blake Clukey.
She will be remembered for her quiet strength, strong work ethic, and the care she showed to those she loved. Rebecca’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and cherished her.
