Rafael G. Flores, 63, of Waco, Texas was born in Fort Ord, California to Ruben and Rosa Flores. As a child of a soldier, Rafael's early years were shaped by travel, with his family moving around the country before eventually settling in Waco, Texas.
He proudly served 27 honorable years with the Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES), dedicating himself to supporting military families across the country. After retirement, Rafael continued to serve his community with warmth and reliability at his local O'Reilly Auto Parts store, where he was known for his helpful spirit and easygoing charm.
Rafael was a man of passion and loyalty-especially when it came to the Dallas Cowboys, firing up the grill for a good BBQ, and cruising on his Harley. But above all, he cherished time spent with family and friends. His laughter, generosity, and storytelling made every gathering feel like home.
He is survived by his beloved partner Jeanie; his son Ruben Flores and daughter-in-law Cristina Flores; his son Rafael Flores; and his grandsons CJ and Benjamin, who carry forward his legacy of love and strength. He also held a deep and enduring love for the children and grandchildren from his previous marriages, embracing them as part of his heart and family.
Rafael's circle of friendship was wide and enduring. He is remembered fondly by lifelong friends whose bonds with him were built on loyalty, laughter, and shared adventures.
He is also survived by his sister Diana Stephens; sister-in-law Cindy Flores; his nephews Joseph Flores, Cleve Warren, and Michael Mullins; and his nieces Ariel Warren and Jadyn Stephens.
Rafael's life was a testament to dedication, joy, and connection. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
