Patrick Scott Jones, of Robinson, Texas passed peacefully on October 6, 2026. He was 63 years old.
Pat spent approximately 40 years working at Discount Vacuum and Appliance, where he became a familiar and trusted presence to countless customers, friends, and coworkers. His dedication to his craft was matched only by the genuine dedication and care he showed to the people around him.
Those who knew Pat will remember him most for his upbeat spirit, sense of humor, and cheerful nature. He had a rare ability to find something he liked in everyone he met. To Pat, whether it was someone at the marina, the next campsite over, or another connoisseur of the flea market, there was no such thing as a stranger, just a friend he hadn’t made yet. He welcomed everyone as they were, without judgement, and made others feel accepted and appreciated. He taught many to accept and appreciate themselves. Pat was also the kind of person to go out of his way to help whenever he could, expecting nothing in return.
Pat loved working with his hands and being outdoors. He was especially passionate about sailing and camping. He lived for the adventures that came with it, even when, or maybe especially when, things didn’t go exactly as planned. Pat created the best memories during these times, be it getting a surprise encounter with a group of raccoons hoping to make off with the camping supplies or working together to dig the sailboat out when it got stuck in the lake. Those moments, funny or frustrating at the time, became the stories and memories that we will all treasure for the rest of our lives.
More than anything, Pat loved being a grandfather. He was always surprised and amazed at his natural inclination and love toward being the best “Grampy” he could be. He adored his seven grandchildren and treasured every moment he spent with them. Family, adventure, laughter, and making memories were all the things that made life special to Pat.
Pat is survived by his loving wife, Lugenna; his daughters Jaquilynn Miller, Tychelle Ware, and Jasmine Green; his seven grandchildren; his brothers Andy, Chris, and Bobby; his sisters Susan and Sarah; longtime friend Bobby Foulds; and countless others whose lives he touched.
Pat will be remembered not only for the things he accomplished, but for the way he made people feel. His cheerful outlook, accepting heart, and willingness to help were all things given freely. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, love, laughter, and adventure that will always remain with those fortunate enough to have known him.
He is deeply loved, deeply missed, and will never be forgotten.
