Patricia 'Pat' Mae Sires

Patricia “Pat” Mae Sires, 75, of Gholson, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 27th at Gholson Cemetery Pavilion, 934 Wildcat Circle, Waco.

Pat was born on July 1, 1950, to Charlie Cates and Ina Mae (Puryear) Cates in San Angelo, she devoted her life to caring for others. She spent her career working for the State of Texas at state schools, where she made a lasting impact helping children through programs such as Equine Therapy and a variety of other therapeutic outlets. Her compassion and dedication touched countless lives over the years.

Outside of work, Pat was known for her kind heart, quick wit, and love of life’s simple joys. She was a gifted storyteller, often captivating friends and family with her legendary campfire tales. She had a special talent for growing beautiful rose bushes, adored her dogs, and—by her own admission—tolerated the cats. Above all, Pat cherished her family. Time spent together, especially during family reunions, brought her the greatest happiness.

Pat’s love, laughter, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Clayton Applegate and James A. Wallace; two brothers, Donald and Bernard; and one sister, Charlene.

Pat is survived by her loving husband, Raymond Lloyd Sires; daughters, Jamie Lee Beaver and husband Robert, Julie Marie Pundt and husband Alton, Tammy Michelle Sires; grandchildren, Chelsea Goode and husband Taylor, Paris Commack, Kaytlin Bennett and husband Daniel, McKenzie Lett, Portia Hilley, Elizabeth Hilley, Summer Hilley, Mattie Hilley, Brandi Norton and husband Tyler, Joshua Beaver; along with several great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Rhonda Ates.
