Myrtle Tomlinson went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 28, 2025. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.
Myrtle was born February 18, 1942, in Raliegh, North Carolina to David and Martha Clemmons. Myrtle married the love of her life Billy Tomlinson on June 28, 1956.They shared 64 years together until his passing in 2020. They had two daughters, Connie and Linda, and one son, Ricky.
Myrtle held various positions in banking and mortgage loans throughout her career before retiring as the Branch Manager of the GENCO FCU. She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Lorena and loved her Sunday school members.
Myrtle was a powerful, thoughtfully enthusiastic, and caring person. She added a sparkle in the room when she walked in. One always knew where you stood with her. She loved to travel and was always ready for “the next adventure”. She enjoyed shopping, fishing at the coast, and spending time with her family.
Myrtle was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a great friend to many.
She was preceded in death by her husband Billy Tomlinson, her parents, David and Martha Clemmons, sister Frances Perry, and brother Raymond Clemmons.
Survivors include daughters Connie Surfus and husband Dean, Linda Huntley and husband Jerry, son Rick Tomlinson and wife Donna; granddaughters Tiffany Booher, and Heather Smith and husband Clay; Grandsons Bill Donald and wife Jessica, Carl Surfus II and wife Heidi, Eric Tomlinson and wife Tyler; great-granddaughters, Adelyn Booher and Remi Carmen, great-grandsons Cade Smith, Braydon Stewart, and Tate Tomlinson.
She also Loved her sweet dogs, Hahns, Krissy, Angel and most recently CiCi.
