Matthew Daniel Strong

Matthew Daniel Strong, 54, of Waco, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 8,2026.

Matthew was born on August 21,1971 to the late James and Gloria Strong in Waco, TX. After graduating from Waco High School in 1989, Matthew worked in both lawn and tree services and fire suppression services before going back to school at TSTC. He graduated from TSTC with a degree in Computer Science and worked at Data Systems of Texas for 21 years.

Matthew enjoyed photography, family history and exploring the backroads of Texas. He combined these passions by photographing countless tombstones to add to the Find a Grave online registry to aid others in their quest to find out about their own family history. Matthew had a passion for helping people. He would offer support, friendship, and even his own home to someone in need.

He will always be remembered for his kindness to others and his deep love for friends and family.

Matthew is preceded in death by his parents Gloria Ann Rochester Strong and James Daniel Strong, and his beloved dog, Hobie.

He is survived by his brother and sister – in- law, James Michael and Shirley Strong of Waco, TX; his sister and brother – in -law, Collyn and Melissa Eastham of Red Oak, TX.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins as well as his beloved aunts: Jamie Wehmeyer and Barbara Amorin.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026 at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, TX.
