Mary "Lisa" Acosta

Beloved wife, mother, cousin, and friend Mary Lisa Acosta went home with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 26, 2024.  

Lisa was born on March 27, 1965, in Waco, Texas to Eugene “Chop” and Mary Lucille Rodriquez. She met her husband Pedro Acosta in Waco, Texas and they married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on June 24, 1989. Pedro and Lisa welcomed their beloved son Peter Phillip on Aug. 28, 1992.  

Lisa was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and worked at First Central Credit Union for more than 10 years, in the collections and member services departments. Lisa was a vibrant and loyal friend to all who knew her. She loved spending time with friends and family. Lisa enjoyed cheering on her favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys, and watching her favorite shows. Lisa’s favorite activity was spending time with her husband, son and daughter-in-law, as well as her beloved cat, Peanut.  

She is preceded in death by her daughter Mickayla Acosta; parents Eugene and Mary Rodriquez; her sisters-in-law Cruz Rodriguez Acosta and Guadalupe Guevara Acosta; and her mother-in-law Felipa Juarez Acosta.

Lisa is survived by her husband Pedro Acosta, son, Peter and daughter-in-law Mayra.

The family will receive visitors from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive. A rosary will take place at 4:30 p.m. A graveside service will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 4 at Oakwood Cemetery, 2124 S. 5th Street.
