Marvin Clarence Fedro, age 94, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026. He was born on June 5, 1931, in Riesel, Texas, to Wick and Minnie Fedro. Marvin attended Riesel schools and graduated from Riesel High School in 1948. Following graduation, he attended Four-C College in Waco, Texas. In June of 1951, Marvin enlisted in the United States Air Force and honorably served his country, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. Following basic training, he was stationed in Denver, Colorado and worked at Air Training Command. While in Denver, Marvin’s life changed in a remarkable way. On a blind date arranged by her aunt, he was introduced to Doris Schiessler of Herndon, Kansas. The two quickly built a life together and were married on September 16, 1953. Their marriage was a beautiful example of commitment and devotion, and they were blessed to celebrate 72 years together. Following his military service, Marvin continued his education at Baylor University, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in August of 1961. He went on to build a successful and respected career in Sales Management with CertainTeed, where he faithfully worked for 43 years. Marvin’s life was defined not only by his career but by his dedication to serving others. He was a past president of the McLennan County Association of Retarded Children and was actively involved with the Texas Association of Retarded Children, advocating for and supporting individuals and families in the community. He was active with the Robinson Chamber of Commerce, the Baylor Waco Foundation, and the Civitan Club. Marvin and Doris were faithful members of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Robinson, Texas, where their faith and church family remained important parts of their lives.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Wick and Minnie Fedro; brothers, Julius Fedro and Joe Lee Fedro; sister, Elnora Luedke; and son, Darrell Fedro.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 72 years, Doris Fedro; daughters, Marla Overstreet and husband Larry of Hewitt, Texas, and Diane Lane and husband Dennis of Lake Jackson, Texas; grandchildren Amy Granger and husband Preston, Justin Brown, Cody Overstreet and wife Tiffany, Travis Brown and wife Jessica, and Caleb Overstreet and wife Megan; and 12 great-grandchildren, along with numerous extended family members and friends.
Marvin will be remembered for his steadfast love for his family, his dedicated work ethic, his service to his country and community, and the kindness and faith that guided his life. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and in the family he loved so deeply.
