With hearts full of both sorrow and hope, we announce that Marilyn has finished her race here on earth. She went home to be with the Lord on October 1, 2025 at 8:34pm surrounded by her loved ones. Though our hearts ache with loss, we find peace knowing that she now rests in the presence of Jesus, free from any pain.
Marilyn lived a life marked by love, grace, and unwavering faith. She was a reflection of Christ’s compassion — always ready to lend a hand, offer encouragement, or share a laugh. To know her was to love her, and there was never a dull moment when she was around. She was deeply devoted to her family and friends, cherishing every moment spent together making memories sitting around her bar drinking coffee or on the phone for hours just catching up. She lived life fully through her simple pleasures; spending time at home with her husband and children, her dogs, her dolls, shopping with the girls, crafting, good music, and holiday decorating!
As she believed in the power of prayer and the promise of God’s Word, we mourn her passing, but we do not grieve without hope (1 Thessalonians 4:13). We rejoice that Marilyn has received the crown of life promised to those who love Him, and we look forward to the day when we will be reunited in Heaven’s glory.
Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Paul Steele Sr., her children, Nancy Childers (Bryan Childers) and Paul Steele Jr. (Ashley Steele),six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, three sisters, one brother, a plethora of nieces and nephews, and even more great-nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Buster Davis and Nancy Abbot and her brother, Dennis Davis.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation at Pecan Grove Funeral Home in Robinson, Tx. The timing will be from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 9, 2025. A celebration of life will be held at the same location on October 11th, beginning at 10:00 am, directly followed by her burial at Rosemound Cemetery in Waco, Tx.
Until we meet again, we rest in the blessed assurance that Marilyn is home — whole, joyful, and forever held in the arms of Jesus.
