Manuella Hernandez, 79 of Waco, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on March 27, 1947, to Faustino and Beatrice Hernandez and grew up in Waco, Texas.
Manuella was influenced by her family to be a strong woman, always willing to put in the long hours to make sure her family was provided and cared for. For many years, Manuella was a seamstress at AMCO and Wolf Manufacturers. After retiring she volunteered at Caritas and was a receptionist at Operation Assist.
As a single mother, she raised her daughters to be independent and supported them in extracurricular activities such as band, softball, and Flag Corps. In 1997, she gave her life to the Lord and served Him in obedience as a greeter, bible study teacher, and translator of the Word. In her free time, Manuella enjoyed playing poker with family, worshipping the Lord, dancing, and watching Young and the Restless. She loved to cook for her family, talk on the phone and cheer for the Green Bay Packers!
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Paul Hernandez Sr., and John Hernandez, sisters, Mary Padilla and Tommie Orta.
Manuella is survived by her daughters, Lorie Collins and husband Patrick, Linda Perez and husband O’Neil, and Christine Hernandez; sister, Lupe Chapa and husband Gilbert; her grandchildren Zain Campbell, Cross Villafana and Asiia Campbell; 2 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
