Lynda Warren

Lynda Darnell Warren, age 69, a longtime resident of Hallsburg, Texas, and originally from Pensacola, Florida, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by loved ones, on Saturday August 22, 2026.

Lynda was a free spirit with a caring and compassionate heart. She embraced life with curiosity, courage, and an appreciation for the people, places, and experiences that made each day special.

She had a deep love for travel and adventure. Lynda hitchhiked throughout the United States and enjoyed backpacking abroad with friends. She also cherished the beauty of nature, especially trees, the ocean, wildlife, and wolves.

Her many interests reflected her creativity and zest for life. She enjoyed fishing, camping, shooting pool, gardening, playing guitar, birdwatching, photography, music, motorcycles, quilting, and turquoise. She loved playing Nintendo with her children, attending powwows and Renaissance festivals, watching the Blue Angels, and creating special memories with her family. Halloween was her favorite holiday because it allowed her to dress up as anything she wanted and express her imagination in her own unique way. There was always something new to discover, another adventure to take, or another memory to make.

Lynda worked hard to provide for her children and build a stable future for her family. She took on many different jobs and projects, including refurbishing houses and cleaning homes. Her determination and resourcefulness helped her care for the people she loved.

She also found purpose in nursing. In 1997, Lynda graduated from McLennan Community College as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). She continued her education through the Registered Nursing program and earned her Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) in 2000. Through her career and personal life, she cared for many people and left a lasting impression on countless hearts.

On August 27, 2004, Lynda married the love of her life, her beloved “Honey,” William Warren, whom she had met while playing pool. The two quickly became inseparable and shared a devoted partnership. They complemented one another perfectly, building a life filled with love, family, laughter, and cherished memories. Their bond will remain a lasting example of true companionship.

Lynda will be remembered for her strength, independence, determination, loyalty, and protective nature. She was strong-willed and proud, yet deeply loving and compassionate. She lived authentically and remained true to herself throughout her life.

Lynda was preceded in death by her beloved son, Levi Hurt; her grandsons, Gabriel Hurt and Levi Hurt; and her lifelong friend, Jeanna Prell.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 22 years, William Warren; her daughter, Elizabeth Griffith; her son, William Joseph Hurt and his wife, Alita; and her bonus children, Cory Warren and his wife, Sarah, and Amber Rodriguez and her husband, Peter.

She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Hannah, Logan and his wife, Emilie, Samantha, Solomon, Tyler, Kyndra, Aliyah, Brenden, Isla, Ian, Leon, Ezra, Brantley, Jasmine, Junie, the Foulis children, and her great-grandson, Baby William.

Lynda is also survived by her siblings, Pat and Dan Stronko, Dale and Linda Jones, Cam and Susie DeLong, and Jimmy and Margaret Jones, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Lynda’s longtime friend of 30 years, Jolie Woodard, for standing by her side through the final chapter of her journey and supporting Lynda and her family during an incredibly difficult time. Special thanks are also extended to Shannon Tiner, RN, for her kindness, compassion, and understanding of Lynda’s free-spirited nature. The family also sincerely appreciates All Accent Hospice Care, especially Rachael Lozano, RN, and Jennifer Rushing, RN, for the compassionate care, comfort, and support provided to Lynda and her family.

Lynda’s life was marked by courage, creativity, hard work, adventure, and love. Her memory will live on through her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.

She was one of a kind, fiercely herself, and deeply loved. She will be missed beyond measure and remembered forever.

In keeping with Lynda’s love of nature and wolves, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, friends and loved ones consider planting a tree in her memory or making a donation to a wolf rescue or wildlife conservation organization.

A celebration of Lynda’s life will be held at a later date. Details to be determined.
