Larry Davis

Larry Doyle Davis, 53 of Riesel, went to join his daughter in Heaven on April 29, 2006. Services will be 10 am Tuesday May 2, 2006 at Pecan Grove Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Kirk Cemetery in Kirk, Texas. Visitation will be Monday May 1, 2006 from 6 to8 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home 3124 Robinson Drive.
Larry was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mart, Texas. He was a truck driver for several businesses in the Waco area. He was most currently employed by Smith Furniture in Waco. Larry worked in the past with Krafcor Cooperation, Bardcor, First Fleet, Schwerman. And, Central Freight Lines for 12years. On February 24, 1973 Larry married the love of his life, Iris Childs in Mart, Texas and together, they shared 33 wonderful years of bliss.
Larry’s parents, R.C. Davis and Jessie Vera Crisp Davis and his daughter Loren Dawn Davis preceded him in death in 1999.
He is survived by a loving wife of 33 years, Iris Davis. Son, Roy Dale Davis and his wife Deanna of Riesel; a special niece, Melissa Summers; 5 grandchildren: Mar’Leigh Anne of Flower Mound, Bailey Dale and Dakota Lee of Riesel, Colby and Raven Summers of Mart. 4 sisters: Lavern Oliver and husband Darwin of Ben Hur, Bobbie Thorn of Mexia, Margie McFarland of Dallas and Mary Mitchell and husband Robert of Pearland; 4 brothers: Billy Davis of Ben Hur, Donnie Davis and wife Barbara of Garrison, Jack Davis of Mexia and Randy Davis and wife Jacky of League City. Several nieces, nephews, sister and brother in laws.
Larry’s loved his family, especially the grandkids, being together with them at reunions and family gathering
