Justin Wayne Colwell

Justin Wayne Colwell, 50, passed away September 9, 2026. He was born August 17, 1976, in Amarillo, Texas, to Larry Leon Colwell and Cheryl Sullivan Colwell.

Justin loved his family deeply, and there was never any doubt how much they loved him in return. He was a devoted son, dad, brother, cousin, and nephew, and he treasured the relationships he shared with those closest to him. Family wasn't limited to relatives for Justin. He had friends who became family, and once Justin cared about you, he was someone you could count on.

When someone needed a helping hand, a friend to stand beside them, or simply someone they could depend on, Justin was there. He would do just about anything for the people he loved and never hesitated to help someone in need. Taking care of people was simply part of who he was.

Justin spent many years working throughout the Waco and Killeen areas as a bouncer and manager at various nightclubs. His outgoing nature and years in the business brought many people into his life, and along the way, coworkers and friends became part of his extended family.

Away from work, Justin was happiest spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed playing video games, hanging out with those he loved, laughing, visiting, and simply enjoying their company

Justin was preceded in death by his father, Larry Colwell; maternal grandparents, Virgil Ray and Jeanettie (Mobbs) Sullivan; paternal grandparents, Kenneth Wayne and Ruby Lee (Cochran) Colwell; and cousin, Allen Davis.

He leaves behind his mother, Cheryl (Sullivan) Colwell; brother, Danny Reynolds; daughter, Kimberlynn Colwell; uncle, Gary Wayne Colwell; along with many other aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

Justin's life will be remembered through the many people he loved, helped, protected, and cared for along the way. His absence will be deeply felt, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Justin’s close friend, Courtney Greene, for her kindness, support, and everything she has done to help the family during this difficult time. They are especially grateful for the friendship she shared with Justin and for being such an important part of his life.
