Judith (Judy) Shotwell of Waco, Texas passed away peacefully at Baylor Scott and White on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 81 years of age, surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Judy was born in Waco on April 13, 1944, to Homer Jack Bishop and Dorothy Mildred Bishop. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Joe D. Werthen, a sister, Barbara Jean Haskins, a daughter, Kimberly Beekman, and a grandson, Chad Osburn.
Judy went to China Spring High School then traveled to California and attended nursing school. Upon returning to Texas, Judy held multiple positions at local Waco facilities including General Dynamics, Payless Cashways, Home Depot, and finally Habitat for Humanity. While working at General Dynamics, Judy met her husband, Ronnie Shotwell. Together they were married for fifty-six years and had a combined family of seven children.
Judy is survived by six children, Ronnette Walles, Laura Bailey (Gary), Leah Fraizer, Craig Morrow (Andrea), Christi Adkins, and Julie Switzer (Tim), ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation services will be held on Monday February 2nd from 4pm-6pm and funeral service Tuesday, February 3rd at 10:00am at Pecan Grove Funeral Home in Robinson. Judy will be buried at the family’s plot at Riesel Cemetery.
