John Harris

John Harris, 71, of Moody, TX, passed away on May 27, 2026 in Moody, TX. He was born in Bridgeport, TX to Bertie and Velma Harris on August 17, 1954. He married Donna Heflin on December 31, 2018 in Justin, TX.

He went to school in Bridgeport, TX. He worked as a General Foreman for Devon Energy for 35 years.

Throughout his life, John was a devoted civil war enthusiast and a lifelong history buff. He also loved traveling and found joy discovering new places and learning stories about the places he visited. Whether he was betting on horses or playing on the spider slot machine, he always thought the next jackpot was his.

John was preceded in death hy his parents, Bertie and Velma Harris; sister, Bertie Utley; and daughter, Toni Harris.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Harris; son, Eric Harris; daughters, Hannah Hayldier and husband, Aaron, Haley Tharp and husband, Andrew, and Heather Vallejo and husband Adrian; eight grandchildren; and five great -grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home.
