Joann “Nene” Roy, 72 of Woodway, passed away Friday, November 20, 2009. Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at Robinson Cemetery with Chaplain Ron Hill officiating. The family will receive visitors Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM at Pecan Grove Funeral Home 3124 Robinson Dr.
Joann was born on October 28, 1937 in Rogers, Texas. She was a devoted wife, mother and “Nene”. She was preceded in death by her mother Annie Whitley Lewis and father, Lester Whitley, a great-grandson, Christopher Culverhouse Jansing.
She leaves behind her wonderful husband of 53 years, Leonard Roy; 4 children, Debbie Swaner and husband Ron, Steve Roy and wife Teresa, Mike Roy, Melissa Whalen and husband Tom. She also leaves behind 5 precious grandchildren, Felicia Cates and husband Jason, Trey Jansing, Christina Tierce and husband Dwayne, Laura Alewine and Zackary Roy. 6 wonderful great-grandchildren; her sister and best friend, Lois Jobe and husband Harold and her loving brother, Les Whitley.
