Jo Ann Kelm

Jo Ann Kelm, 87, of Hewitt, passed away on September 26, 2026 in Hewitt, Texas. She was born in Bruceville, Texas, to Yates and Alice Felkner on September 27, 1938. She married Harry Jean Kelm on September 3, 1959 in Ben Arnold, Texas. 

She graduated from University High School in 1956. She worked as a nurse's aide at the old Providence Hospital, then later at Sears for 20 years. She worked several temporary jobs at M&M/Mars and for the USPS as a postal carrier. She was involved in serving at her church, Zion United Church of Christ in many areas. 

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Jean Kelm.

Survivors include her children Terry Wayne Kelm and spouse Rae Ann of Kerens, Texas; Timothy Bryan Kelm and spouse Teresa of China Spring, Texas; her sister Barbara Eugenia Barrett of Port Arthur, Texas; grandson Bryan Wayne Kelm and great-granddaughter Trinity of Mildred, Texas; granddaughter Nichole Rebecca Rysdyke, spouse Tony, great-grandson Stetson and great-granddaughter Brendall of Liberty Hill, Texas; granddaughter Taryn Alise Alvarado, spouse Tino and great-grandsons Reus, Catarino and Gael of Keene, Texas; granddaughter Taylor Brooke Franks, spouse Sheldon, and great-grandsons Gunner and Samuel of Brownfield, Texas.; and several nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services pending; Reverend Richard Rust will be officiating. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Fisher, Reuben Weeks, Rusell Snider and John Swineheart.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Bluebonnet Hospice for their wonderful care in her last days, and her good friends Peggy and Bob Wright and Gloria Baker who visited her often and brought her special treats.
