Jimmy Kapavik, age 63, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Monday, September 30, 2024. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Friday, October 4th at Pecan Grove Funeral Home with burial immediately following at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday, October 3rd at the funeral home.
Jimmy grew up in West, Texas. He married his soulmate and best friend, Joni, and the couple resided in Hewitt, Texas. Jimmy owned multiple businesses throughout his life ranging from contracting, cabinets and millwork, and remodeling homes. He built a beautiful oasis for his family in his backyard, where he hosted annual gatherings for his family and friends. He was an all-around fixer of all things. Jimmy loved cooking and was a true grill master. He enjoyed watching the Texas Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys. He drove a Harley Davidson for many years. Jimmy was full of love and passion and it showed immensely with how he treated his loved ones. He loved being a son, brother, uncle, husband, father, and most importantly, a grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Regina Kapavik, and his brother, Robert Kapavik.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Joni Kapavik; his daughters and their husbands, Cortney and John Cooney and Whitney and Colton Sandhoff; his granddaughters, Hadley and Avery; his sisters and their husbands, Peggy and Frank Kucera and Rita and Raphael Johnson; his brother and wife, Henry Kapavik Jr. and Jane; and many nieces and nephews.
