Jimmy Craig

August 13, 1935 — February 15, 2024

JIMMY RAY CRAIG, 88, of Robinson, TX went to his Heavenly home on February 15, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Prairie Hill, TX to Billy Craig and Grace Ramsey Craig. He attended grade school in Thornton, TX and was always finding odd jobs to do, even as a young boy, so he could have some pocket money.

During his career, Jimmy learned to repair all kinds of machinery and was responsible for maintaining the equipment at several soda-bottling plants in the Central Texas area. In retirement, he would repair lawn equipment for his pocket money.

Jimmy was a member of Fearless Life Church (formerly Calvary Assembly of God) most of his life. Through the years he maintained church vehicles and served as needed. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, then cooking and eating what he caught. He taught his son and grandsons those skills as well.

He was preceded in death by his father Billy Craig in 1938; mother Grace Ramsey Chester; stepfather Frank Chester; brother Charles Chester.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty Craig of Robinson, TX; Daughter Caren Craig of Robinson, TX; Son Randy Craig and wife, Becky of Sachse, TX; Grandchildren Nicole Brock (Bradley), Jessica Craig (Matt Crump), Angel Craig, Ben Craig (Brittany); Great grandchildren James, Scarlett and Juliana; Sister Nell Gatlin; Nephews, nieces, a host of cousins, family and dear friends.

The family will be scheduling a Celebration of Life for a future date. To send condolences or be notified about the Celebration, please email the family at craigjbcr@gmail.com. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Please, no flowers or plants. Memorials may be made in Jimmy's name to Fearless Life Church, 2708 Robinson Dr., Waco, TX, 76706.

The family wishes to express their thanks to Community Healthcare of Texas for their hospice services. They made it possible for Jimmy to remain at home with the family for his final days.
