Jerry Lynn Swindall, 72, of Waco, Texas, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026.
Jerry was born on March 26, 1954, in Waxahachie, Texas, to Blanton and Opal Lee (Wyatt) Swindall. He lived Gatesville until his family moved to Waco when he was 8 years old. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
In 1983, Jerry married the love of his life, Debbie Barcomb. He dedicated his career to the grocery industry, working in the produce department at Safeway in Waco for more than 21 years before continuing his career with H-E-B, where he worked for 25 years until his retirement.
Jerry loved the outdoors and found joy in spending time at the deer lease, fishing, tending his yard, and working in his garden. Whether gathering with family or friends, Jerry was often the life of the party, always ready with a joke that brought laughter to those around him.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Blanton and Opal Lee Swindall; his brother, Kenneth Ray Swindall; and his nephew, Michael Jeffrey Swindall.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Debbie Swindall; his son, Justin Swindall; and his grandson, Jake Swindall. He is also survived by his siblings: Elizabeth McCrary; Michael Swindall and wife, Monica; Marshall Swindall; Billy Swindall and wife, Yolanda; and Sharon Swindall. He leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews: Jody Swindall and wife, Briana; Carolyn Vickery and husband, Clay; Matt Swindall and wife, Nellie; Kenny Swindall; David Swindall and wife, Katie; April Pullen and husband, Terry; Ashley Aries; and Eric Wills.
Jerry will be remembered for his love of family, his faithful service to his country, his strong work ethic, and the laughter he shared so freely with everyone who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
