Jennifer Gongora

Jennifer Renee Martinez Gongora, 42, of Waco, TX, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. Jennifer was born April 29, 1979, in Waco, TX, to Johnny and Beatrice (Rodriguez) Martinez the youngest of four kids.

She was very kind, outspoken, a loving person that was full of life and loved to make people laugh. She had lots of friends and kept up with all of them on social media. She enjoyed spending time with her family, watching movies and especially going to the casinos playing the slots and she LOVED being a grandma. She was also known to be an excellent cook. Jennifer was a loving wife, mother, daughter, aunt, and grandmother and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her wife, Tish Gongora; children, Alexus Cardenas, Mercedes Martinez, and Manuel Cardenas; brothers, John Martinez; and Jamie Martinez and wife Stephanie; her pride and joy, grandson, Xavier “Chacho” Cardenas; grandma, Lupe Sanchez, grandfather, Pete Rodriguez; and lots of nieces and nephews.

A Rosary service will begin at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, January 27, followed by a visitation from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m., at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco, TX. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m., Friday, January 28, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2621 Bagby Ave, Waco, TX, with Very Rev. C. Benjamin Magnaye as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Jennifer was preceded in Life Everlasting by her parents, Johnny and Beatrice Martinez; sisters, Rosa Linda Martinez and Cathy Renee Martinez, grandparents, John and Elvira Martinez and Victoria Rodriguez.
