Israel Anthony Moreno Jr.

Israel Moreno Jr., lovingly known as Handsome, Baby Israel, and Izzy, age 29, passed away on February 3, 2026. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 11 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Ramos officiating. There will be a visitation one hour before the service beginning at 10 a.m.

Born on August 25, 1996, in Lubbock, Texas, Israel was raised in Austin, Texas, where he built lifelong friendships. Israel was the beloved son of Israel Moreno Sr. and Veronica Moreno. He graduated from Del Valle High School, Class of 2014, and went on to become a hardworking, dependable, and responsible young man who took pride in everything he did. 

Israel was loving, loyal, playful, and always there for the people he cared about. Family meant everything to him. He loved basketball and football, working out, traveling with friends, shopping, and collecting sneakers. Those who knew him often spoke about how handsome he was—his soft eyes, kind smile, impressive height, and his “peanut head,” a nickname shared with love and laughter. What will be missed most is Israel’s smile, how easy he was to talk to, his playful spirit, and the way he teased everyone he loved. He had a special tradition of putting cake on faces during birthdays—moments that now live on as cherished memories filled with joy and laughter. 

Israel is survived by his parents Israel Moreno Sr. and Veronica Moreno; his siblings Monique Aguilar and her husband Andres Aguilar, Diamond, Janica, and Catalina Moreno; his grandparents Ramon and Antonia Garcia; and his beloved nieces Scarlette Macias, Novalee, Gracia, Genesis, and Mia Aguilar, along with many family members and friends who loved him deeply. He was preceded in death by Janie Garza, Daniel Moreno, and Edward Ramirez. 

Israel’s love, laughter, and presence will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be remembered for his warmth, his humor, and the way he made people feel seen and loved.
