Hugh Mack Ford

Hugh Mack Ford, 94, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 21, 2026, on Father’s Day, at his home in Waco, TX. Visitation will be at Pecan Grove Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 30, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be held Wednesday, July 1, at 10:00 a.m. at Pecan Grove Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Hugh was born in Cotton Gin, TX, to Mack Baskin Ford and Mary Ellen (Shanks) Ford. He lived in Cotton Gin and Mexia during his early years. He married Naomi Ernestine Winfrey on April 16, 1954. They moved to Waco in 1957 and were blessed with three daughters.

He served in the US Army Quartermaster Corps from May 1954 to May 1956, where he was stationed at Camp Darby in Europe (Italy).

Hugh retired in 1992 after forty-one and a half years as an Accounting Supervisor for TXU. He was involved in many community activities. In his early years, he enjoyed umpiring softball and spending time outdoors camping, RVing, hunting, and fishing, but his true passion was the game of golf. He also loved woodworking and traveling with his wife before her passing. 42 was a game he mastered and always had a good time playing.

His home was full of love, care, safety, and protection for his family and all others who entered. He was a cheerful and happy man, and laughter rang throughout the house because of his joy. He was always up for a fun time.

He was a member of Timber Crest Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and taught the men’s Sunday School class for many years. He loved to give hugs, and in former years, he was known as the “bubblegum man.” He believed all people were his neighbor. He loved ministering to

and serving others in any capacity he could, and he strived to live for Christ in all things he did. His greatest desire was that everyone experience the love of Jesus Christ through faith in Him. Jesus

died to take away your sin, so you can live an abundant life and share eternity with Him.

He was a loving husband, Daddy, Papa, and friend. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ernestine (Sissy) Ford, and his sister, Louise Wigley.

Survivors include his daughters: Susan Blake of Waco, TX; Peggy York and husband, Aaron, of Woodway, TX; and Vicki Sanders and husband, Mike, of Whitehouse, TX. Grandchildren: granddaughter, Katrina Davila and husband, Joe, of China Spring, TX; grandson, Jeff Sanders and wife, Courtney, of Whitehouse, TX; and grandson, Scott Sanders and wife, Maci, of Whitehouse, TX. Great-grandchildren: Brooks and Parker Davila; River, Lainey, and Bo Sanders; Eastynn and Woodrow Ross, and Lynnon, Rilynn, Murphy Sanders. Nephews: Mack Wigley, Tim Wigley, James Moody, Joe Moody, Jackie Moody, and their families.

Thank you to Amedisys Hospice for their commitment to ministering in the service they were called to.
