Henry Randolph

January 19, 1941 — December 10, 2022

Henry Amann Randolph, Jr., 81, of Robinson, went to Heaven on December 10, 2022, where he is holding hands with Jesus, as he is reunited with his wife, Helen. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 14 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, Waco. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, December 15 at Waco Memorial Park, Waco. A Celebration of Life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bellmead.

Henry was born on January 19, 1941, in New Orleans, to Amann and Louise Randolph. He grew up in the New Orleans/Chalmette area, and attended High School and College at Concordia Lutheran College in Austin. While at Concordia, Henry met the love of his life, Helen Strauch (from Malone). They were married on August 6, 1961, in Malone. Henry taught parochial school in Dallas and at St. Mark Lutheran School in Waco. Henry also worked as Director of Medical Records at Providence Hospital. He earned a Master’s Degree in Gerontology from Baylor University in 1986, and worked as a Nursing Home Administer and a Case Manager for MHMR. Henry and Helen loved children, and they served as foster parents for nearly 60 years. During that time, they provided a home to more than 250 foster children.

Helen and Henry also had four children of their own, and they expanded their family by adding four more children. All eight Randolph children felt that they were especially blessed - because while the many foster children called Henry and Helen “Momma and Daddy” for just a few years, the Randolph children knew them as “Momma and Daddy” for their whole lives. Henry had a big heart and he loved spending time with his family. He was known to grandchildren and great-grandchildren as “Poppy”. He also enjoyed listening to music, playing his ukulele, and reading. Henry was a faithful and active member at St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he taught classes and sang in the choir. After Henry’s health forced him to stay home, he continued to worship by watching the live-streamed services every week.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen, and by his parents.

Henry is survived by several sons and daughters, including Steve Randolph, Lori Culver and husband, Perry, Mark Randolph, Joel Randolph, Connie Coyle and husband, Steve, Shelly Randolph, Rubin Randolph, and Dameon Randolph. Grandchildren include: Kyle, Jaclyn, Paige, Seth, Tyler, Benjamin, Andrew, Bethany, Michael, Matthew, Ashley, Aaron, Julie Anne, Corey, Christopher, Justin, Ryan, Clint, Cody, Braydyn, Traelin, and several grandchildren-in-law. He also had 13 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Other survivors include sisters, Anna Beth Hellmers, Dottie Fahrenbacher, Maryann Fikes, and brother, David Randolph.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Choir, 1301 Hogan Lane, Bellmead, TX 76705.
