Harold Joseph Hollas, 74, of Lorena, Texas, passed away on November 13, 2025.
Born in Temple and raised in Cameron, Harold met the love of his life at junior college, where her confident introduction earned a playful response from the young man who would become her husband. In 1972, he married Jolene White, beginning a devoted partnership that shaped their family and anchored their life together. They made homes in Hurst, Taylor, and Tyler before settling in Lorena in 1980, where they raised their sons and became active members of the community.
Harold’s career reflected his strong work ethic and steady reliability. He began on the loading docks at Texas Power & Light, later worked in air-conditioning installation and repair, and eventually became a Marketing Representative for TXU, helping large facilities reduce energy costs. After his early retirement during deregulation, he continued serving others through maintenance roles, supervising repair crews within the prison system, and working as an inside account representative for Dealer’s Electric. In his final working years, he taught HVAC at a trade school, sharing the practical knowledge he had built over a lifetime.
Service was central to Harold’s life. He coached Little League, led the High School Athletic Booster Association, supported fundraising efforts for the Lorena Volunteer Fire Department, and contributed countless hours to local programs. For his long-standing commitment to the LVFD, he was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Family traditions were important to him. He supported Vacation Bible School each summer, helped with Christmas in the Country, and was always willing to lend his expertise to anyone who needed help with HVAC or electrical questions. Above all, he loved time with his grandchildren, taking pride in the chance to teach, support, and encourage each one.
Harold is survived by his sons, Tyson (Amy) Hollas of Argyle; Joseph (Marija) Hollas of Allen; and Timothy (Amanda) Hollas of China Spring; grandchildren Milady Hollas, Jake Hollas, David Hollas, Vera Hollas, Hailey (Matthew) Pettorini, and Chase Weir; great-grandchild Hudson Pettorini; and his brother, Lee Hollas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jolene Hollas; his brother, Charles Hollas; his sister, Katherine Hollas; his mother, Milady Hollas; and his father, Leo Hollas.
