Grace Smith

Grace Adele Shannon Smith, 89, of Waco, passed away at home after a brief illness Wednesday, July 20, 2022. Visitation will be Monday, July 25th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive. Graveside services will be Tuesday, July 26th at 10:00 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery.

Grace was born May 28, 1933 to Hubert and Lillian (Scharf) Shannon in Waco, Texas. She married James Thomas Smith Sr., spending most of her time as a housewife and patient mother raising five children.

She is preceded in death by her late husband, James Thomas Smith “Smitty”; daughter, Gala Smallwood; sister, Betty Nell Rogers; and brother, Hubert Zollie “Squab” Shannon.

She is survived by her children, Paula Williams, Liz Vrba, Tina Smith, Jimmy Smith and wife, Vickey; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
