Glenda Lucille McLearen, age 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 27, 2025. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 3 at Waco Memorial Park with Pastor David Cozart officiating. There will be a visitation on Tuesday, December 2 from 5-7 p.m. at Pecan Grove Funeral Home.
Born on November 30, 1940, in Dallas, Texas, Glenda was the daughter of Johnny Lee Zube and Lula Naomi Langford Zube. She grew up in a loving family and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1958. On October 15, 1960, she married the love of her life, James Thomas “J.T.” McLearen Jr., fondly known as “Catfish.” Together they built a beautiful life filled with devotion, hard work, and enduring companionship.
Glenda was a dedicated and loyal employee throughout her career, working at Waco Dodge, Don Ringler Chevrolet, and Hafford Equipment. Her strong work ethic, kindness, and steady presence touched the lives of many colleagues and customers over the years. Glenda was a faithful member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church, where she formed lasting friendships and found great joy in fellowship. In her later years, Glenda made her home at St. Anthony’s Care Center, where she was cared for with compassion.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Edwin Zube; daughters-in-law, Cathy McLearen and Kathy McLearen; grandchildren, AJ McLearen and Lacy Mason.
Glenda is survived by her loving husband, JT McLearen; children, Jay McLearen and wife Jill, Jerry McLearen and wife Patti, and Jimmy McLearen; grandchildren, Matthew McDonald and wife Michelle, Justin McLearen and wife Jamie, Nicholas McLearen and wife Heather, Julianne Fogle and husband Joe, Susan McLearen, Terron Millsap, and Mandy Argetsinger and husband Robby; along with seventeen great-grandchildren.
Glenda will be remembered for her warm heart, unwavering faith, and the love she shared with everyone blessed to know her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Glenda’s memory to the Meadowbrook Building Fund at 1207 N. Old Robinson Rd., Waco, Texas 76706.
