Gertrude Juliana Federwisch Kattner

Gertrude Juliana Federwisch Kattner was born on July 25, 1924, in Riesel, Texas, to Ernest Conrad Federwisch and Olga Hausler Federwisch. She lived a remarkable 102 years, witnessing a century of changes while creating a lifetime of memories and building a legacy of love, faith, and family.

On September 5, 1942, Gertrude married her soulmate, Wesley Kattner. Together, they shared 56 years of love and companionship. Wesley proudly served in the United States Air Force for 23 years. During his military career, Gertrude faithfully stood beside him, making homes for their family in the many places military life took them. She embraced each new location and made every house a home. Throughout those years, she devoted herself to being a loving wife and mother, providing stability, comfort, and support for her family. Her dedication and sacrifices were an important part of their family's military journey.

Gertrude was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and a lifelong member of Friedens Church of Riesel, Texas. Her Christian faith was an important part of her life and a source of strength throughout her many years.

Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, Wesley Kattner, and her son, Randall Kattner. Also, brothers Eugene Federwisch and Ernest Federwisch Jr.

She leaves behind her loving son, Kenneth Kattner, and wife, Linda, and daughter-in-law Georgia Kattner, to cherish her memory. She is also survived by her youngest brother, Tom Federwisch, and his wife, Dorothy, and many nieces and nephews.

Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Lance Kattner and his wife, Diana, Todd Kattner and his wife, Lori, and Holly Kattner. Her great-grandchildren Brandon Kattner and his wife, Alexis, and Brooke Lancaster and her husband, Matthew. And her precious great-great-granddaughters Addison and Everly Lancaster and Mallory Kattner. Gertrude's 102 years were a blessing to her family and all those whose lives she touched.

Though our hearts are saddened by her passing, we find comfort in knowing that her earthly journey is complete and that she is now resting in the loving arms of her Savior.

Rest in heavenly peace, Gertrude. You will be forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
