Gerry G. Suttle

Gerry Glyn Suttle, of Riesel, Texas, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 9 at Old Time Baptist Church of Riesel with Pastor Robby Kirby officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Riesel Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 5-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 8 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home.

She was born in Waco, Texas, on July 27, 1939, to Della Elizabeth Brueggeman and David Wilson Dodson. Following the tragic death of her mother when she was just eight months old, she was raised by her grandparents, Fred and Agnes Brueggeman, in Mart, Texas. She was a member of the Mart High School Class of 1957 and the Waco Beauty School Class of 1958.

On November 8, 1958, she married James S. Suttle, Jr., and they made their home in Riesel, Texas, where she owned and operated the Riesel Beauty Shop for several years. She was a former city council member, a former Lions Club president and district governor, and a charter member of Old Time Baptist Church of Riesel.

She is survived by her brother, Alan Dodson of Bristol, Tennessee; her sons, Jim and Phyllis Suttle of Iola, Texas, and Jerry and Theresa Suttle of West, Texas; her grandsons, Chris and Leah Suttle of San Antonio, Texas, David Suttle of West, Texas, and Kyle Suttle of College Station, Texas; her granddaughter, Erica and Eric Archer of Iola, Texas; great-grandchildren, Zachary and Laney Archer; and great-great-grandchild, Henley Sechelski.

Pallbearers are her grandsons and great-grandson. Honorary pallbearers are Johnny Skinner and Kelly Burke.
