God called Geraldine (Jerri) Hudspeth Jones to his celestial home on Sunday December 14, 2025.

A visitation we be at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco, on Friday, December 19, from 6:00 – 8:00pm. Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be on Saturday December 20, 2025, at 10:00am at the Pecan Grove Chapel. The family will meet at Meadowbrook Baptist Church 1207 N Old Robinson Rd, Robinson, Texas 76706 when returning from the cemetery.

Her husband of 71 years Alton (Kenneth) Jones and her daughter Barbara E. Jones Attaway met her at Heaven's gate.

She will be missed by her daughter Paula Diann Jones Hoover and Alton K. Jones Easton PhD whom she raised. Her faith and love of God and Jesus appeared ever present in her earthly life and continues with the great love of all members of her family.

Geraldine was born near Aquilla, Texas in Hill County on August 13, 1934, to Ancil Clyde and Mary Jewel (Wills) Hudspeth. Geraldine often shared fond memories of working in the fields with her brother Ancil Clyde Hudspeth, Jr and enjoying family gatherings with the Wills family cousins Diann, Sherry, Gary and Cindy.

Jerri was working at a laundry in 1948 and met Kenneth at the cafe across the street. When he discovered she worked at the laundry he hurried over to have a shirt washed. He collected his shirts, his brothers' shirts and (as he tells it) maybe a couple that didn't belong to anyone, so he was able to make trip after trip to the laundry just to talk to her. True love blossomed; they married in 1949 and created a family of their own. Jerri was a wonderful mother and a faithful wife. Jerri loved babies and she could be counted on to make them giggle and smile. Education and lifelong learning was very important to Jerri. She proudly chauffeured three generations of children and teens to school, and their graduation ceremonies were a great blessing to her.

Jerri seldom turned down an opportunity to spend time with family and friends. She enjoyed playing badminton, riding bicycles and rollerskating as a young mother. She spent many days as assistant to Kenneth while he was involved in DIY projects on home improvement projects. She "gained skills" in plumbing, painting, landscaping and gardening without complaint. Often accompanying him on hunting and fishing trips, she picked up those hobbies as well.

Jerri was quite fond of Dr. Pepper, Elvis and playing 42 or gin rummy. Her love of people made her a great friend to many and a best friend to several. As a young 83 year old, she traveled to Graceland and continued on to North Carolina to visit a precious friend from her younger days. The following year she flew straight to North Carolina to see her again. In more recent years, Jerri enjoyed a new church family at Crossroads Baptist Church in Lorena. She welcomed a couple of new great great grandchildren into the family. Wherever a beautiful soul has been, beautiful memories remain.

This beloved mother, grandmother and friend is preceded in death by her parents, brother, and daughter Barbara Attaway.

She is survived by her son (Butch) Alton K. Easton and wife Audrey (Di) Easton and daughter Paula Hoover of Lorena. She is survived by six grandchildren, Robin Fisher of Cabo, Andrew Dixon of Cleburne, Amanda Young of Burleson. Lucas Easton of Burleson, William Attaway of Deer Park and Eric Attaway of Robinson and beloved spouses. Her great grandchildren include Justin Attaway (father of Caleb, Anna, Jraven and Benjamin), lan Attaway, Emily Boudreaux (mother of Nicholas, Tyler Rhoden, Eric Fisher, Chloe Cary, and Alexandria (mother of Mia) along with their beloved spouses.

"Until We Meet Again"

We think about you always, We talk about you still. You have never been forgotten, And you never will. We hold you close within our hearts, And there you will remain, to walk and  guide us through our lives. Until we meet again.
