George Doil Wooten

George Doil Wooten, 89, of Waco, passed away Monday, January 24, 2022. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 28 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco.

Doil was born January 14, 1933 to George and Mendina (Phillips) Wooten in Waco, Texas. He was a lifelong resident of the Waco area and a well-respected home builder. In his spare time he loved racing cars at the HOT Speedway and enjoyed fishing, especially for Crappie. He married Anna Murle Burger on March 17, 1951 in Waco, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sandra Wooten Roebuck; great-grandson, Jonathan Darrel Rogers; three brothers; and one sister.

Doil is survived by his wife of 70 years, Ann Wooten; daughter, JoAnn Rogers and husband Jimmy of McGregor; grandsons, James Rogers and wife Mindy of Waco and Kris Roebuck and wife Hayley of Fort Worth; great-grandsons, Alex Rogers and wife Megan, Jordan Rogers, Gibson Roebuck; great-granddaughters, Jocelynn Rogers, Ellie Roebuck, Emma Roebuck, Millie Roebuck; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
