Frieda M Henson

Frieda May Henson, age 95, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025 in McAlester, Oklahoma. Celebration of life will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 27 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home with Rev. Jacob Brenton officiating. There will be a private family burial immediately following.

Frieda was born July 26, 1929 in McLennan County, Texas to William H. and Elenora (Stalbaum) Rueter. She married Joseph Weldon Henson on June 22, 1949. She worked in the insurance industry for more than 20 years prior to her retirement. Frieda enjoyed bird watching, painting and antiquing in her spare time, and she was always watching the football games on Sunday afternoon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Wesly Henson; and five sisters.

Frieda is survived by one sister, Jo Hansen; her two sons, Jay Henson and Amy, Dean Henson and Brenda; grandchildren, Micah D. Henson, Shirley K. Stichter and Drew, Betsey Brazel and Jeremy, and Charlie Henson and Brittany; great-grandchildren, Allyson and Alexis Brazel, Jett, Griffin, and Roxy Stichter; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
