Faye Salazar Mendez passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on March 31, 1942, to Matiana and Ynes Salazar.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 30 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Benjamin Magnaye as Celebrant. Burial will immediately follow at Santa Cruz Cemetery in Asa. There will be a visitation on Monday, December 29 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, with the Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Faye was a hardworking and devoted woman who spent 20 years employed at Spenco Medical and later dedicated several years to home healthcare. Her strong work ethic and caring nature were evident in everything she did. Above all else, Faye cherished her family and worked tirelessly to support and care for them.
She was a loving mother, a proud grandmother, and a treasured friend. Family meant everything to Faye, and she was happiest when surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Her strength, kindness, and unwavering love will be remembered by all who knew her.
Faye is survived by her son, Ynes Salazar, and his wife, Mary Ramirez; her daughter, Marisela Mendez; and her son, Rudy Chavez Sr.; her brother, Johnny Salazar; her grandchildren, Rudy Chavez Jr., Christiana Rodriguez, Makyla Kirkpatrick, and Marcus Kirkpatrick Sr. and his wife, Rochelle Kirkpatrick; her great-grandchildren, Anaiah Rodriguez, Eliana and Elias Romo Jr., Marcus Kirkpatrick Jr., and Emeri Romo; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Matiana and Ynes Salazar; her brothers, Felix Salazar, Tim Salazar, Blas Salazar, Tony Salazar, and Lewis Salazar; and her sisters, Kathy Lee, Beatrice Salazar, and Sally Chavez.
Faye Salazar Mendez was a truly amazing woman whose legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
