Elsie (Mickey) McDaniel LaDuke

Elsie (Mickey) LaDuke, 96, passed away Friday, May 16, 2025. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27th at Fairview Cemetery near Hubbard.

Mickey was born July 25, 1928 in Hubbard, Texas to M.L. McDaniel and Janie (Bonner) McDaniel. She had one brother, Quannah Lee McDaniel, who preceded her in death.

Mickey enlisted in the US Army in 1949 and was discharged in 1952 with the rank of Corporal. She was stationed at Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Denver, Colorado during the 1950’s polio epidemic. Mickey was assigned to the children’s ward as a medical technician for those who had polio. She worked at the Department of Veterans Affairs Regional Office until her retirement in 1996. Mickey also served on the City Council of Beverly Hills in the 1990’s.
