Elora Burton Kirk

April 24, 1925 — August 21, 2025

On August 21, 2025, Elora Kirk left us for a better place. We lost a loving mother, and a very dear friend. She is survived by her daughter Sandra Lawrence, and son-in-law Thomas E. Lawrence.

She was the daughter of Ethel Willoughby Burton, and Charles Floyd Burton. She was born in Comanche County Texas. She was the youngest of 7 children, all deceased.

From an early age her life was spent in Waco, Texas and later years in the town of Elm Mott, Texas.

For 46 years she worked at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on 5th Street, Waco, Texas as an Administrative Assistant and Financial Secretary. She loved working with the clergy and all of the members of the church. They can attest to the fact she was a lover of music, as they often caught her humming as she worked at her desk.

She was a member of Church of Christ of Elm Mott. Where her most enjoyable time was singing those lovely hymns. In her retirement days she spent many hours in her back yard with her flowers and the birds that came to enjoy them also. But she really did love those Sudoku Puzzles as she was a number’s person. She also enjoyed traveling and took several trips with Sandra and Tom.

She was loved, and will be missed so very much.
