Vernon Sonny Spencer, 82, of Mart, passed away Friday, February 12, 2016. Graveside services will be 3:00 pm, Saturday, Feb. 27, at Mt. Antioch Cemetery in Mt. Calm.
Sonny was born June 8, 1933, in Mt. Calm, to Raymond and Maggie Spencer. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley Spencer; aunt, Annie Lee Yates; grandson, Thomas Vernon Wooten; two sisters; and one brother.
Sonny is survived by his daughters Cherrell Scott; and Rhonda Thompson and husband Tommy; grandchildren Shelly Fulp and husband Monty, Kelli Turner and fiancé Ken Walpole, and Steven Butler and wife Liana; great-grandchildren T.C., Dusti, Cameron, Luke, Joshua, and Charli; and great-great-grandchildren Olen, Joseph, Easton, Kyzer, and Nora.
