Edna M. Arledge, 85, of Golinda, passed away Monday, July 18, 2005. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 20, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Bratcher and Rev. Ralph Powers officiating. Burial will follow at Chilton Cemetery.
Mrs. Arledge was born February 2, 1920, in Satin, Texas to Lon and Minnie Drake Moore. She graduated from Chilton High School.
She married T.C. “Buddy” Arledge in 1938. The ASCS office in Marlin employed her for many years. She and Buddy built and operated the Country Store in Golinda for many years. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Golinda. In their younger years they both enjoyed deer hunting and being members of the Marlin Saddle Club. She loved arts and crafts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Arledge, her parents, Lon and Minnie Moore, her brothers, Roy, Jack, Dave and Leo Moore, and her sister, Jewel Farney Branch.
She is survived by her nephews, Aubrey Moore and wife, Joan, Darrell Farney and wife, Evelyn, her nieces, Ola Jean Craft, Shirley Franklin and husband, Paul, Linda Good and husband James, her sister-in-law, Betty Cole and husband, Dave.
Pallbearers will be the Deacons of the First Baptist Church in Golinda.
