Dorothy Mae Laningham

Dorothy Mae Hendricks Laningham, 81, of Waco passed away Monday, May 20, 2024, at home with family.  A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr, Waco.

Dorothy was born on January 25, 1943, in Waco to John & Etta Mae Hendricks.  She worked at Texas Farm Bureau for 35 years.  She worked at Lorena ISD for 10 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother John Hendricks, sister Shirley Cameron, and loving and longtime spouse Charles Laningham.

She is survived by her children:  Randy Laningham of Hewitt, Rick Laningham & wife Kimberly of Hewitt, Michael Laningham & wife Amber of Whitney, Michelle Laningham-Brem and fiancée Lyle Bomar of Moody, sister Kay Young of Waco, 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.  

Her favorite activities involved anything related to her children and grandchildren.  She never missed her sons’ baseball games at Southern Little League or their football and basketball games in high school.   She enjoyed watching her daughter’s dance team perform at high school football games.  She watched her grandchildren participate in activities as often as she could, which included motocross, football, baseball, basketball, soccer, peewee cheerleading, and concerts.   She was a die-hard Texas Ranger baseball fan. She knew as much about the players as the announcers.
