Daniel Weyenberg

Daniel Lee Weyenberg Sr., 90, of Robinson passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022. A Celebration of his Life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 28 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco.

Daniel was born October 5, 1931 to Clyde and Viola (Tate) Weyenberg in Louisville, Kentucky. He married Phoebe Rivers and they had 67 wonderful years together. Daniel started his law enforcement career at Robinson Police Department. He then worked for McLennan County Sheriff’s Department for 27 years until his retirement as a Chief Deputy. His love of flying helped create the Aviation Department at McLennan County Sheriff’s Department. Daniel was a member of Waco Kiwanis and Blue Knights Motorcycle Club. One of his greatest joys was spending time on his Harley. One of his favorite pastimes after retiring was spent on his tractor and listening to Opera.

He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Phoebe; brother, Hugh Weyenberg; and sister, Kathryn Stevens.

Daniel is survived by his daughter, Lou Gilmore; son, Dan Weyenberg Jr. and wife Lisa; brothers, Cleve Weyenberg and Tommy Weyenberg; grandchildren, Danielle Weyenberg, Liza Fore and husband Ryan, Nicole Schwartinsky and husband Dusty, Chad Jacobs and wife Dixie, Kara Davis, Whitney Marnell and husband Dusty; along with 13 great-grandchildren.
