Daniel Jacinto

Daniel Jacinto, 89, of Waco, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

Born on September 16, 1936 in El Paso, Texas, Danny lived a life defined by honor, courage, devotion, and love. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1955-1959, where he demonstrated the same strength, discipline, and unwavering sense of duty that would guide him throughout his life. He then worked at Central Freight and the Glass Plant before dedicating 15+ years to General Tire, where he worked with great pride and dedication. Yet, those who knew him best will remember that his greatest accomplishments were not found in titles or accolades, but in the lasting impact he made on those around him.

After his years of service, Danny devoted himself to his family and community. He was a steadfast husband/father/brother/friend and, above all, a loving and devoted grandfather. Danny had a gift for making people feel welcomed. He was known for his sense of humor and his constant curiosity about the weather. Whether it was his trips to Eagle Pass, eating serrano peppers or eating with his brothers and friends at El Charro, he treasured the simple moments, especially taking photos with his family, which brought his loved ones together.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Cecilio and Florencia Jacinto, brothers Elias and Samuel and sister Rachel Loredo.

He is survived by his five children: Armando Jacinto and wife, Idell; Leticia Holbert; Deanna Hicks and husband, John; Daniella Jimenez and husband, Ricky; and Patricia Fuentes and husband, Albert. He is also survived by his brothers, Toby, Cecil, and Robert; sisters, Alice “Licha” and Elizabeth; grandchildren, Valatisha Jacinto, Marissa Holbert, Krystina Hicks, Armando Jacinto Jr., Velencia Jacinto, David Holbert, Jacob Fuentes, Grace Flores, and Hannah Whitaker; and great-grandchildren, Alashya Horn, Jaceston Evans, Kingston Whitaker, and Kade Flores.

His legacy is one of service and love. He served his nation with honor, served his family with devotion, and left behind memories that will remain in the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 18, at 9:00 a.m., followed by service at 10:00 a.m. Both will be held at Calvary Chapel Waco, 702 N 18th Str, Waco, TX 76707. Burial with full military honors will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. A reception will then be held at Calvary Chapel Waco.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Armando Jacinto Jr., David Holbert, and Jacob Fuentes; and his nephews, Cecil Jacinto III, David Jacinto, Jody Jacinto, and Jeremy Loredo.

Honorary pallbearers will be nephews Samuel Jacinto III., Toby Jacinto Jr., Jason Jacinto, Jesse Yglesias, Henry Silvas and great nephews Henry Silvas Jr., Justin Loredo and Eric Loredo. Though he has completed his final watch, the love he gave so freely will endure through generations.
