Dalton Ryan, 86, of Robinson, Texas, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Dalton was born on October 26, 1939, in Mountain Park, Oklahoma to Foy and Idella Ryan. Dalton spent the last 50 years of his life in Robinson, Texas, where he became a beloved and dedicated member of the community.
On November 4, 1970, Dalton married the love of his life, Rita Gale Ryan, and together they shared nearly 49 years of marriage before her passing. Their love and partnership left a lasting legacy in the family they built together.
Dalton was a devoted Christian man who followed God throughout his life, and his faith was a guiding light for himself and his family. Dalton was a long-time member of Bible Baptist Church in Waco, TX.
Dalton was a man of service and vision. During his time as mayor, he led the effort to bring running water to Mountain Park, a lasting contribution that improved the lives of his community for generations. He also founded his own headstone engraving company — a craft and legacy that continues to live on through his family today.
Dalton was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Gale Ryan; his parents Foy and Idella Ryan; his brother, Carroll Ryan; his sister, Kay Ethridge; and his great-grandson, Conner Johnson.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Bickle; his daughters, Tammie Rose and spouse Shane, Candy Murray, Becky Johnson and spouse Jerry, and Brandy Hobbs and spouse Kaylee; his grandchildren, Heather Johnson and spouse Gene, Shawna Roden, Jason Roden and spouse Lindsay, Zack Mitchell, Kevin Mitchell and spouse Gail, Kevin Murray Jr. and spouse Reagan, Ryan Murray and spouse Sonia, and Sarah Groves and spouse Devin; 11 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Dalton's legacy of hard work, leadership, and love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and community leader whose impact will endure for generations to come.
