We announce with great sorrow the passing of our beloved Cory J. Breedlove, 42, of Robinson, TX. Cory was born on March 10, 1982 in Waco, TX to parents Johnny and Cheryl Breedlove. As big brother to Brandon Breedlove, they share a strong and deeply rooted brotherly bond. Cory demonstrated his love for his parents in various acts of helping them with whatever was asked of him. He went to Lorena ISD and grew to work in industries involving crane operations, machining, and truck driving where he formed numerous lasting friendships and would always talk about his enjoyment in helping his customers.
During his spare time, you could find Cory in the woods hunting, but his true love, and often jokingly referred to as his “mistress” was his boat where he would calm his soul on the waters of the lake or the coast praying for that catch of a lifetime. He loved nature and the serenity that it gave him. Anyone who knew Cory also knew of his love for speed and he would often be found in a garage tinkering on small engines, or working on race cars, RC cars or out at the dirt track, drag strips or local kart track talking about memories of when he used to race and his constant itch to get back into it. When speaking with friends and family most of the best memories of Cory were times when he'd be out fishing or out at the races. Cory was the kind of man that didn’t know a stranger, and he would do anything for anyone without question or hesitation. He also had a love of dogs and other animals and often talked about wanting a zoo or dog rescue. His passion for all these things showed his character and just how big his heart was.
In 2018 he met his soul mate Ashley, 38, whom he always called “Me Love”, during a time that they both would describe, when telling their love story, as a moment of divine intervention. They went on to welcome two beautiful daughters which were Cory’s world. He was also a stepfather to Ashley’s four kids from her previous marriage, but there was no title of “stepfather” in the house and anyone who knew Cory knew that he loved all the kids as his own and with all his heart. He was a doting and supportive dad and encouraged the kids to try hard and do their best in everything. His legacy of love will continue not only thru his children, but also his family and all the numerous deep and lasting friendships he had over the years.
Cory is preceded in death by paternal grandparents John and Pauline Breedlove, maternal grandfather James Bays, and cousin Doug Bays. He is survived by his wife Ashley Breedlove of Robinson, children Riley (5) and Lilly Breedlove (4), and Sydney (17), Robby (16), Kortney (15) and Tabetha Redding (12), parents Johnny and Cheryl Breedlove of Moody, brother Brandon Breedlove (Tasha) of Speegleville, maternal grandmother Lillie Grinis of Waco, several aunts, uncles and cousins, best friends Jamie Holder (family), Jeremy Richards (family), Andrew Walizer (family), Kevin Holt, friends that he would talk to on a daily basis, and others that he knew who meant a lot to him.
Our hearts will forever have a void, but our minds will be filled with his laughter, his funny sayings, sarcasm, advice, and memories, but also with knowing how much he loved us all. As we look up to the sky and see the vast blue, we’ll smile knowing he’s fishing in Heaven and loving every minute of it with a smile on his face and his blue eyes sparkling in the sun. Catch a big one for us, Babe. Until we see you again, Me Love.
Per his wishes, Cory will be cremated. Visitation will be held at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Robinson, TX on February 8, 2025 at 10:00AM with a Celebration of Life at 11:00AM. A luncheon for immediate family will be provided afterwards. Scattering of his ashes will be done at the coast at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donation to charities recognizing Veterans or animal rescue as Cory always supported these causes.
